Finding the perfect engagement ring felt like a daunting task at first—until we met Tom. From the start, he made the whole process not just stress-free but actually enjoyable & educational. Tom is insanely patient, and ridiculously talented at what he does (a must when you’re making a big decision like this). What we didn’t realize going in was just how important it is to be involved in every step of designing a ring—especially something as personal as an engagement or wedding ring. Tom made sure we weren’t just picking something off a shelf but actually creating something unique to us. We got to see a prototype of our ring ahead of time, which was a game-changer. It felt like we were co-designing, not just ordering, and that made the experience so much more special. And we can’t forget Julie—she is an absolute gem. Tom and Julie made sure we felt supported the whole way through, answering our endless questions with so much care and enthusiasm. Magic in Dublin When you think about Ireland, there is typically some enchantment and mysticism that is expected if you grew up reading folklore. You expect fairies on random corners and scheming leprechauns to jump out and trick you out of a coin. How surprised I was to see none of the above but to meet a real life Saint in Dublin. This was a special trip we embarked on with my parents, husband, brother/sister in law and our niece Lucy. On the day we met Tom, we were hunting for a ring to fit Lucy’s adolescent finger and that met her very specific criteria. Shop after shop we went with nothing being quite right. We found ourselves in Powerscourt Centre and were ready to leave after another failed shopping attempt when we accidentally went to the 3rd floor rather than the 2nd and happened upon an unassuming jewelry store in the back corner. We were met with antique gems, fabulous customs pieces that shined and knew we were not in the right place… that was until Tom saw us. He very kindly welcomed us, asked us how we were, told us to look around and when I stated I didn’t think we could afford the store, he chuckled and asked if we would like our rings cleaned free of charge. He happily chatted with us about our travels as he meticulously cleaned our truly disgusting rings, explaining the cleaning process throughout. What stood out the most, was the way he interacted with Lucy. Lucy utilizes a walking cane due to significant visual deficits and can often be left out. Tom spoke to Lucy as he spoke to us. He then asked Lucy what she was looking for in her jewelry. She very excitedly began explaining, even handing her cane over to her mother as she passionately described her desired piece of jewelry. Tom then stated “Well how about this Lucy, I’ll draw up a design or two of what I think fits your needs and I’ll have it made and shipped out to you in a few weeks - for free”. You can certainly imagine our shock. We then began bargaining that no, no, we can’t accept this - absolutely not. Tom shrugged this off and began speaking directly with Lucy about her design. He asked very pointed questions regarding her preference in color and shape and within a few minutes he had a design which he explained as being a heart (her favorite shape) signifying the love of her family surrounded by a circle (her second favorite shape) which represented the circle of life. It’s hard for words to truly explain this moment and the magic we all felt in the room with Tom. It truly felt as if we were in the presence of someone so special and in a moment so magical that if we were to return to this location a different day, we would find it a vacant shop that hadn’t had a tenant for decades. As my sister in law and I quietly wept, Lucy happily engaged with Tom and aligned on a design. By this time, our rings were almost finished with one stage of the cleaning remaining and Tom hopped up and continued explaining the process then bid us a fine rest of our day. I shouldn’t have been surprised when I received an audio message not 4 hours later. You will note it was an audio message to ensure he could speak directly with Lucy about his progress on the design. He then followed up with photos of two different designs so we could explain how they looked to Lucy and let her make the final decision. There is still magic in this crazy, chaotic world and if you happen to find yourself in Dublin, please go experience it with Tom. Side note: He also does custom jewelry from afar and will beat whatever prices you have locally. A dream come True! My fiancé proposed to me with a token ring and we couldn't wait to go and pick up a ring that felt special to us. We went down to a few high street jewellers and had a browse however once we met Tom, we knew we were in the right place, not only does he craft the ring but he has gone over the Lab vs Natural and the differences in either, and explained the whole process in the detail to us. He picked the most perfect stone for us. He kept us both up to date with the updates on the ring and we even received some progress pictures along the way which was so special. The ring itself is so special, and absolutely perfect. I was worried and at times I was questioning our design choice however Tom assured me that if needed we can look at a redesign however there is absolutely no need, the ring is perfect! I have received so money compliments since we picked it up! Absolutely in love with the ring, I am sure we will be back for our wedding bands in the next few months :)
